The mixer seems to work very well. It has a lot of power, more than I expected. It's quiet and smooth. The wife was mixing dough while I was on the stove. I didn't know know the mixer was going until I turned around and saw her mixing dough, it is that quiet. Kind of nice not to hear the whir of the old mixer.
Overall, I'm glad I paid a few extra bucks for this model.

Our last mixer lasted over 20 years. For about a week we used a mixer that I won as a prize. After a week of using that one and having it shake loose all the rocks in my head and making me almost deaf, this new mixer finally arrived. I love this mixer...mixes anything,is easy to use, and is super quiet...or maybe I just can't hear anymore after using that other "mixer". Purchase this mixer...you won't be sorry. :)
