5Very Happy former Kitchen Aid Owner
By Meg
I received a Kitchen Aid KSM90 as a wedding gift twenty-one years ago. It served its purpose faithfully during those years with moderate to heavy use. I make all of our baked goods from scratch. Over the past two years the Kitchen Aid was showing its age and seemed to groan under the burden of multiple loaves of bread dough.

We began searching for a replacement and the Bosch Universal Plus kept popping up as a comparable item. As I looked further I began to learn that many Bosch mixers outlast the Kitchen Aid - some of them still running after 30 years. A huge concern was that perhaps the quality of the new machines wouldn't match up to the older. You know, "They don't make 'em like they use too." But several sites (obviously they sold Bosch) said the same thing about the quality of the newer machines - they are built to take the load over the long haul. We decided to take the plunge and try something new. We had owned Bosch dishwashers in the past (tw o different homes - same style washer) and were more than satisfied.

My husband's parents bought the Bosch for me as a Christmas gift (2012). There's a bit of a learning curve in that Bosch recommends a different order of ingredient placement in the bowl. I was accustomed to filling the bowl with my ingredients at one station and then taking the bowl to the mixer at another place in the kitchen. That's not as easy to do with the Bosch so I am learning to change things up a little bit.

I've made several batches of bread using a recipe that calls for 14 cups of flour. The machine handles it like a champ! The dough is beautiful and smooth. It bakes with a more consistent crumb that the bread I processed in the Kitchen Aid.

I've not used regularly used a blender in the past. But since this machine came with one we've been having milkshakes fairly often. (Our boys are thrilled!) The blender doesn't seem to mix as efficiently as the old Ost er that I had been using - again only occasionally. I suppose it could be my overall lack of experience in using a blender.

I would definitely recommend also purchasing the bowl scraper attachment especially for use with the wire whisks and cookie paddles. That's next on my wishlist. The whisks and cookie paddles do not come close enough to the center of the bowl to sufficiently scrape itself clean as it mixes. This requires occasional stopping and hand scraping which is doable but was rarely needed with the Kitchen Aid.

I have only owned the machine for about six weeks but overall I am so very happy. I eagerly show it off to every lady who visits my kitchen!

5Universally The Best, Plus 10Stars
By KoolKat
The Most User Friendly, Easy to Clean, and Powerful Mixer. Beyond all my expectations--the Kitchen Aid isn't even in the running, nor the Electrolux because their arms do get in the way. Bosch's Universal Plus has truly revolutionized the mixer industry with this kitchen workhorse which is good looking, a small foot print for kitchen counter space and has accessories that will enable each kitchen to have one powerful machine instead of many. I have made many loaves of bread, hamburger & hot dog buns, cinnamon & caramel rolls, cookies, the ring and lid seals off all splashing when making butter from cream, and in the blender sauces & smoothies,--so much experimenting that my review is 2 weeks later than intended. The videos available from Bosch mykitchencenter.com (check out the bosch vs. kitchen aid mixer) and Youtube.com are great for any instructions that you need to get you going in the right direction. Looking forward to adding the Slicer/shredder, with the sma ller bowl for smaller batches, Meat Grinder and Noodle press. Universal Plus the only mixer on the market for me!! Thank you Bosch & Amazon!

5Bosch Universal Plus Mixer with Blender and Cookie Paddles
By Sue Ann Cook
I love my new Bosch Mixer, blender and cookie paddles! The mixer stays put when I use it--doesn't dance around the counter top! My old Bosch Mixer lasted 30 plus years and this one will probably out-live me! I like it especially for making bread and rolls because it does the kneading and I don't have to! The blender blends and chops beautifully, couldn't ask for more. Looking forward to using the cookie paddles soon!
